Kirk Huslage currently serves as the Associate Director for the North Carolina Statewide Program for Infection Control and Epidemiology (SPICE). He is a principal lecturer at all SPICE infection control courses; a consultant to all healthcare facilities (including nursing homes) in the state on infection prevention issues; and conducts applied research projects in the area of infection prevention and environmental disinfection. Prior to coming to SPICE, he served as the Infection Control and Safety Compliance Officer for UNC Health Care Ambulatory Care, Home Health and Hospice, and UNC Physician Network. Kirk has a BS in Zoology from North Carolina State University, a BS in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University, a MS in Public Health in Environmental Health and Microbiology and a post-graduate certificate in Occupational Health Nursing from the University Of North Carolina Gillings School Of Global Public Health.
