Pat Metcalf Jackson is currently Director of Infection Prevention and Control at Children's Medical Center of Dallas. She has been an infection preventionist for more than tweny years.
As an APIC-Dallas Ft Worth Chapter member, Pat has served as treasurer and president. At the national level she has served on the nominating and awards committee, as the section head for the pediatric section, on the public policy committee, regulatory review panel and is currently serving on the education committee. Pat has been a faculty member of the APIC epidemiology courses since 1999. She has presented both poster and oral abstracts at local and national meetings. She has presented an APIC webinar on Infection Prevention in the pediatric ambulatory setting and spoken at both local and national conferences on Infection Prevention topics.
Pat was the recipient of the 2000 APIC Chapter Leadership Award having been nominated by her peers in the APIC-Dallas Ft Worth chapter and in 2008 was chosen as a Covidien Hero of Infection Prevention. In 2005 her team was responsible for the recall of an FDA approved device that was contaminated with Burkholderia cepacia.
Pat received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Baylor University. She has been certified in infection prevention and control since 1996 and has earned the Fellow of APIC designation.
