Ms. Mooney holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Microbiology and Medical Technology from New Mexico State University with a minors in Chemistry and Community Health. She served  as Association of Professionals in Infection Control-NM President 2003, attended the SHEA/CDC Course in Healthcare Epidemiology: (2008 Awarded the Gina Pugliese Scholarship and has held  her Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology since 1997 (CIC).

She is currently the Owner/Independent Consultant  with Infection Control Consultants of New Mexico, LLC), APIC Faculty for EPI Intensive and Academy courses,  NM Department of Health contractor (CDC special projects -Antimicrobial Appropriateness project, etc.); Statewide CLASBI and LABID C. diff validation).  As an Infection Control Preventionist she has experience in multiple settings - Acute Care, Long Term Acute Care, Rehabilitation, Long Term Care, Home Health environment, and alternate healthcare settings (dental and physician offices, etc.). She provided training for staff in the areas of OSHA bloodborne pathogens, CDC guidelines including Standard, Contact, Droplet, and Airborne Precautions, MDRO tracking and reporting, Program management and preparation for CMS/TJC/DNV survey.
