Celebrate U.S. and World Antibiotic Awareness Week, November 13-19

11/13/2017

#BeAntibioticsAware - Protect your patients

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) are urging healthcare professionals to prescribe antibiotics only when necessary to help fight antibiotic resistance and the spread of superbugs.

To kick off U.S. Antibiotic Awareness Week, CDC launched "Be Antibiotics Aware," an educational effort to raise awareness about the importance of safe antibiotic prescribing and use.

The WHO launched World Antibiotic Awareness Week, with the tagline, "Handle antibiotics with care." The campaign is intended to reach the general public, health professionals, governments, farmers, veterinarians, the food and feed industry and others via a social media campaign using infographics, quizzes, and success stories to raise awareness of the need to act on antibiotic resistance and what kinds of steps we can take.
