Education Committee Chair
Lela Luper, RN, BS, CIC
Ada, OK
Lela Luper is currently Infection Preventionist at Chickasaw Nation Medical Center in Ada, Oklahoma. She has been working in infection prevention and control for more than 10 years. Working in a regional rural healthcare facility has provided Lela opportunities to work in almost every area of infection prevention and control. Lela is a Board Certified Infection Preventionist. As an active member of APIC, she has served on Member Services committee, Branding taskforce, Annual Conference Committee, and EPI course revision-faculty team.
Limited only by geography, Lela has utilized technology to stay connected and current with her own local APIC Chapter 125-Oklahoma. She is currently a member of Oklahoma’s Healthcare Associated Infection Prevention Work Group and has served this group for several years. Luper is involved in church and community. Lela was recently honored as a 2015 March of Dimes Nurse of the Year finalist. She delights in making new friends in the same profession she has loved for many years.
