Ms. Flood has been an infection preventionist (IP) for over 20 years in several settings and currently works as Senior Manager, Infection Prevention Program at City of Hope in Duarte, California — a comprehensive cancer center.

Ms. Flood has been an active member of APIC since 1999, serving at the local, state and as an APIC board member from 2016-2018. Ms. Flood has served on APIC’ s Public Policy Committee both as a member, and as the chair for two years. She received the APIC Chapter Leadership Award in 2017.

Ms. Flood earned her Master of Public Health Degree from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hunter College-Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City.  She has been Certified in Infection Control since 2000 and has earned the Fellow of APIC designation.
