CMS establishes public reporting websites for IRFs and LTCHs

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has established websites, similar to Hospital Compare, to provide public information from Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF) and Long-Term Care Hospital (LTCH) quality reporting programs. Preview data is available to IRFs and LTCHs until September 30, 2016. Facilities are encouraged to review this data prior to public display. Read instructions to access IRF preview report. IRF Compare will report quality data on:

•Percent of residents or patients with pressure ulcers that are new or worsened (short stay) – NQF #0678

•National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI) outcome measure – NQF #0138

•All-cause unplanned readmission measure for 30 days post-discharge from Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities – NQF #2502

LTCH Compare will report quality data on:

•Percent of residents or patients with pressure ulcers that are new or worsened (short stay)- NQF #0678

•National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI) outcome measure- NQF #0138

•National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infection (CLABSI) outcome measure- NQF #0139

•All-cause unplanned readmission measure for 30 days post-discharge from long-term care hospitals- NQF #2512.
