ONC report recommends strategies to ensure safe use of health IT systems

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology announced the availability of two new reports on health IT safety. One report provides recent evidence of the benefits of health IT to patient safety. The other report gives recommendations and solutions for addressing potential patient safety issues with health IT systems and services. The recommendations focus on six specific areas; two related to adoption and implementation and four related to use in practice. Read more about the reports.
