CDC has opened registration for its annual NHSN in-person training, which will be held at CDC in Atlanta on March 20-24, 2017. Registration closes January 26 at 12:00 pm EST. Please use this link to register for the training.

Speakers will discuss topics to include CMS reporting and definition and protocol clarification for catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI), central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI), surgical site infections (SSI), ventilator-associated events (VAE), and laboratory-identified (LabID) event reporting for Clostridium difficile (CDI) and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) bacteremia, and Antibiotic Stewardship. Subject matter experts will provide interactive case studies for each infection/event type. Course participants will also have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of their NHSN surveillance data, how these data can be used for prevention, and the 2015 NHSN Rebaseline. Finally, the course will provide a forum for this community of practitioners to gather together to share experiences and network with peers and new colleagues.  

Please note that registration does not guarantee a seat at the training, since applications for the course usually exceed seating capacity. Because we want to ensure a good representation and fair distribution of NHSN user types, CDC reserves a small number of reservations for QIO, QIN and HIIN participation as well as one space per state/territory. The remaining slots will be randomly filled from the registered applicants. Please additionally note that the lottery system of participant selection ensures that all registrants have an equal opportunity to be selected to attend, regardless of when they apply during the time registration is open.
