APIC 2016 Opening Plenary Speaker – Author of Freakonomics

APIC is pleased to announce that the opening plenary keynote speaker for APIC 2016 is Stephen J. Dubner—best-known as the host of Freakonomics Radio and co-author of the books Freakonomics, SuperFreakonomics, Think Like a Freak, and When To Rob A Bank. These books have sold more than 7 million copies in more than 40 countries. Dubner is also the host of the Freakonomics Radio podcast, which gets 5 million downloads a month.

Dubner will speak at APIC 2016 on the unforgettable topic of applying Freakonomics-style unconventional analysis to infection prevention, and how infection preventionists can “think like freaks” to get doctors and nurses to wash their hands, stop over prescribing antibiotics, and follow checklists and best practices to prevent healthcare-associated infections which kill 75,000 patients each year in the U.S.
