The APIC Scholarship Program helps APIC members in need of financial assistance to manage the costs associated with critical professional development. Funds assist infection preventionists pursuing APIC professional development and education programs such as the CIC and LTC-CIP credentials.

What’s included?
Assistance is provided in two categories for certification:
- Exam preparation: Award recipients receive all of the designated APIC educational resources below to help prepare for the examination.
- APIC’s Learning System for the LTC-CIP online course (one year subscription)
- APIC’s Learning System for the CIC online course (one year subscription)
- Exam fee reimbursement: APIC will reimburse testing fees to participants who pass the CIC® or LTC-CIP examinations. To receive reimbursement, you must submit a copy of your score report or official certificate within 90 days of completing the exam.
- Additional Benefits:
- APIC Text Online (one year subscription)
- APIC’s Infection Prevention Competency Review Guide, 6th edition (Digital) – CIC only
Please note: Certification materials purchased prior to acceptance are not eligible for refund.
Who is eligible to apply?
- Individuals who have been members of APIC for the last full continuous year, without any lapses or interruptions.
- APIC members who have no other financial support for certification are encouraged to apply.
- Individuals must understand the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) eligibility criteria.
- With the one year access to the learning system, you should be prepared to take the exam within that one year period (i.e., by October 2024). No extensions will be granted after that date. Applicants who take the exam prior to acceptance into the program will be ineligible for reimbursement through the 2023-2024 program.

- Save the completed pledge document to a place on your computer where you can find it. (When you are completing the online application, you will be asked to upload the completed document.)
- Complete and submit the online application.
Recipients will be notified by early October 2023.

- Is the a-IPC certification included in the APIC Scholarship program?
A scholarship for the a-IPC certification will be added in the 2024-2025 program year.
