APIC president Mary Lou Manning, PhD, CRNP, CIC, FAAN, FNAP, will participate in a White House Antibiotic Stewardship Forum on June 2, 2015.
Organized by the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, the forum brings together about 175 experts from the fields of public health, academia, associations, public health, and the food industry to discuss strategies to improve antibiotic use and prescribing and reduce antibiotic resistance.
Antibiotic resistance is associated with 23,000 deaths in the U.S. each year. The White House recently announced a strategy to combat antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
