Columbia University highlights AJIC editor’s achievements

Elaine Larson’s illustrious career and numerous achievements in infection prevention and control have not gone un-noticed by her institution, Columbia University. The AJIC editor was recently featured in the Columbia News for her pioneering hand hygiene research.

As an infectious disease expert who has published more than 200 papers on hand hygiene, Elaine Larson, PhD, RN, FAAN, CIC, is the go-to source for commonly asked questions. She is the associate dean for research at Columbia School of Nursing, professor of epidemiology at Mailman School of Public Health, and serves as Editor-in-Chief for AJIC. She was named the first recipient of the Distinguished Scientist Award by APIC in June of 2013 for her significant and sustained contribution to infection prevention science and leadership within the scientific community.
