For Individuals

Individual ARN membership is renewed every 12 months. Maintaining membership is simple and just requires proof of participation in at least one ARN survey or collaborative research project during each 12-month membership window.

The table below outlines the individual membership levels for the APIC research network. Members can update their profile each year and progress to the next level.

White Belts (Novice) have no requirements! Check out the table below for the other belts!

Belt Levels

Green Belt (Proficient)

Current IRB training

At least one published peer-reviewed article

At least one abstract published or presented at a national conference as first author

Black Belt (Expert)

Green belt requirements

At least 2 published peer-reviewed papers as lead author,

At least 5 published peer-reviewed articles overall

At least 2 reviews for a peer-reviewed journal

Evidence of serving as a lead for a research study (either as a principal investigator or research coordinator

Mentor

Black belt requirements

Completion of APIC mentor training

Evidence of supporting novices/other facilities through mentorship (TBD)
