APIC’s Continuing Education Program

The mission of APIC’s continuing education program is to advance the knowledge and professional practice of professionals in infection prevention and control to improve safety, prevent infections, and enhance health outcomes across healthcare and community settings.

Target Audience

APIC’s educational activities support interdisciplinary learning and are designed for professionals involved in infection prevention and control and related fields. Learners may include, but are not limited to, nurses, physicians, public health professionals, epidemiologists, pharmacists, microbiologists, medical laboratory professionals, respiratory therapists, and other members of the healthcare team. APIC also supports students and emerging professionals by providing educational opportunities that enhance learning and professional development.

Expected Outcomes

APIC educational activities are designed to achieve the following outcomes, depending on the nature of the activity:

  • Increase learner knowledge related to infection prevention and control.
  • Support the application of infection prevention and control knowledge in professional practice.
  • Support improvements in professional performance and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Promote safer healthcare delivery and the prevention of healthcare-associated and community-associated infections.
  • Educational activities are evaluated by learners and planners to assess the extent to which these outcomes are achieved and to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Criteria for Successful Completion

Successful completion requirements vary by activity and will be communicated within the activity materials. Requirements include:

  • Attendance or participation in the educational activity.
  • Completion of all required learning components.
  • Completion of the activity evaluation by the specified deadline.

 

Activity Evaluation

Activity evaluations are available through the online learning platform or via a link provided in the activity materials. Evaluations must be completed within the timeframe specified for the activity. Upon successful completion of all requirements, learners will have access to a certificate of completion documenting the continuing education credit earned.

How to Access Certificates of Completion

Visit your APIC Education Dashboard to download your certificates of completion for all completed webinars, online courses, and virtual live workshops. Please follow the steps below

Step 1

Login to your APIC Education Dashboard using your APIC account login details (email address and password associated with your APIC account).

Step 2

Click on My Dashboard then Transcript/Achievements.

Step 3

On the Transcript page, locate completed educational activities.

Bookmark this direct link to visit your Transcript page.

Step 4

View, download, or print individual certificates or your full transcript.
