Applications for the 2027 APIC Board of Directors and the APIC Nominating & Awards Committee opens on Thursday, March 26, 2026. Interested candidates are encouraged to review the candidate handbooks posted below prior to beginning their online application.

APIC Candidates
Certification is not required to run for APIC Office. However, certifications earned will be included as part of the scoring element of the application.
CBIC Candidates
The application to serve on the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC®) will be open from March 26, 2026, through June 29, 2026. To apply, please visit the CBIC website. Please note that candidates must hold an active CBIC certification (AL-CIP™, CIC®, LTC-CIP®, or a-IPC™) to be eligible for board service.
Eligibility
APIC members in the Professional, Lifetime and New to the Profession membership categories are eligible to run for office. Candidates for the position of President-Elect must have previously served on the APIC Board of Directors.
