Emerging Infectious Diseases

Emerging infectious diseases are infections that have newly appeared in a population or have existed but are experiencing a rapid increase in incidence or geographic range. These diseases, caused by various pathogens and including both new and reemerging threats, can arise or spread due to factors such as globalization and the increasing development of antimicrobial resistance.
