Catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI)

Catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) develop either during or after placement of a urinary catheter. CAUTI has been shown to increase patient morbidity and mortality, increase length of stay, and add to the cost of care.
