CDC Releases 2024 HAI Progress Report

The CDC released the 2024 annual National and State HAI Progress Report. The report provides a summary of select HAIs across four healthcare settings: acute care hospitals, critical access hospitals, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, and long-term acute care hospitals. Among acute care hospitals nationally, the report shows decreases in CLABSI, CAUTI, VAE, MRSA bacteremia, hospital-onset C. difficile infections, and colon surgery SSIs. However, the report also noted an increase in abdominal hysterectomy SSIs in 2024 compared to 2023. Read the CDC’s 2024 HAI Progress Report.
